Week Seven...

With this week's theme centered around Valentine's Day, the 52-week project theme was "Open your Heart"....which kindly brought our sweet "Bella" to mind. I found her laying in one of her favorite spots, in the spare room, around high noon, sun blazing in through the window, just enjoying the glorious warmth on her black, shiny coat! "Open your heart"..........we did! It was almost a year ago to the day that we adopted sweet Bella from the Hound Haven puppy shelter...where she continues to make us laugh with all her "bella antics"..........yep....we "heart" her!

Week 6 ..."words"

So, they say that a picture can paint a thousand words...(however, in this economy where everything is becoming less and less, it's probably closer to only two-hundred words)....but, none the less...the image I've chosen for week 6 truly needs NO words. Agree?

Week 5..."muse"

And, for my MCP Project, they offer a "theme" each week, to use as a guideline for inspiration (if we need it). However, yes, we CAN break the rules and choose our OWN theme, if we would prefer. Well, this week brought to us, the "Blizzard of 2011" and even though we were prepared for it, many of the people here in the midwest were NOT "amused". I, on the other hand, found it "simply beautiful". So, does that mean I met the "theme" half way???? I think so.

"soothing repetition"...

I guess, in going with the theme of "repetition"........I actually had two images that I wanted to use, and have since decided that, hey.......this is MY blog, so I can post more than one image if I want to!! Right?? So, happy color, happy flower, sitting on my window sill so "soothing like". Yeah, repeat away!!

January is almost over!!

Well, week 4 with my "52 Week Project" has fallen under the category of "soothing repetition". This was our theme, and I thought our neighbors pasture & fence fit this description quite well! And, of course, couple it with a typical January day...filled with LOTS of the cold, white fluffy stuff!! Although a very common scene here in the midwest....it is still one that can certainly "soothe" the soul, and bring back memories of a simpler time. For me, I go back to the days when my children were all home, we would have a "no school, snow day", and my daughter would run out to this barn and saddle up! A free day to ride!!

MCP Project 52, Week 3

Well, so far, this weekly project I've started has been great, physically making myself get outside to take pictures, as well as carving out the time to focus on my craft! I had gotten a new macro lense for Christmas from my husband, and have just finally gotten around to giving it a go. LOTS to learn, but it's going to be VERY fun! Although it should be able to be "readable", this camera is dated 1913, so I thought it definitely could fit in the category of "shades of grey", as well as enabling me a chance to finally play with the new lense! It did a fine job.......but, I've got LOTS to learn. This whole "learning" thing....it never stops!!!!

Aint nothin' but a hound dog...

And.......with the second week of the MCP Project 52 already in place......the theme was to "illustrate a song"!! Our sweet little Bella, who we rescued from the Hound Haven Shelter almost a year ago, was very happy to play along, as she was enjoying doing what dogs do best!! Hanging out on her favorite chair this morning....
Already looking forward to week 3!!! See you then........
